SUMMARY:Allegations\, Safer Caring and Contact
DESCRIPTION:This training will be facilitated by Drew Boustead. Drew is a qualified Social Worker and Foster Carer with many years of experience working with Young People and families. \nThis course will cover the importance of safer caring for not only the Young People in your care but for your whole family and support network. It will also cover the difference between and allegation and complaint and why they are made and to have an understanding of the child’s view in making an allegation. The roll of the SSW\, how you will be supported and advice on what to do if an allegation is made against you and reflection on the impact on the whole family. \nFacilitating contact with members of a child’s Birth Family can be one of the most challenging parts of the carer’s role. We will look at benefits of contact along with the challenges it presents. We prepare carers for the range of problems it can present for them and the child\, and look at strategies for managing these. We explore how to assess the impact of contact on the child\, as this will change as they develop. \nRegister your interest
