Sustainability policy

We believe that the future of our young people should be protected. The effects of the climate crisis are now being felt across the world with unprecedented temperatures and extreme flooding and storms.

As a fostering agency, becoming carbon neutral is challenging, as we like to provide face-to-face and emergency support, we need to keep vast amounts of data in the clouds.

Below are some of the positive actions Time Out has taken to start reducing our impact on the planet:

  • We provide recycling facilities for TerraCycle items allowing for the recycling of difficult to recycle items such as Food packaging and products
  • We provide and encourage normal recycling in the office
  • Our energy supplier Eon uses 100% renewable sources of energy
  • All stationery is from recycled sources
  • We buy refurbished phones and laptops for staff
  • We have an environment focused blog section dedicated to helping families live a more sustainable and conscious lifestyle
  • We regularly share tips on how to live in a less environmentally damaging way on social media posts
  • Through participation group work, we have started to engage in projects with young people on how they feel about the Climate and Ecological emergency
  • We plant trees for every young person we are able to place with one of wonderful foster families
  • All marketing goods and ‘new children in placement packs’ are made up of sustainable products such as recycled water bottles , bamboo towels bamboo toothbrushes, recycled plastic pens
  • We use bio-degradable ID badges for staff and carers
